Course Description:
Microsoft Imagine Academy program is designed to prepare students for industry-recognized certifications. Almost every job today requires some form of technology skills. Microsoft Imagine Academy help students learn to be productive using Microsoft Office (Word, PPT, Publisher, & OneNote) and other software tools for a wide range of jobs and other life pursuits. By earning a Microsoft Certification students will be able to demonstrate their skills on the latest technologies, have a firm measure and increase confidence in their skills, achieve a greater degree of success in their pursuit of higher education or a career, gain recognition among peers and employers, and have a distinct edge in the competitive job market, and chart a career development path of ongoing Microsoft skills.
Course Objectives/Topics:
- 1.00 Understand word processing software application skills using Microsoft
- 2.00 Understand presentation software application skills using Microsoft Powerpoint
- 3.00 Understand desktop publishing application skills using Microsoft Publisher (Supplemental)
- 4.00 Understand information gathering skills using Microsoft OneNote(Supplemental)
Grading: A = 90 - 100 B = 80 – 89
C = 70 – 79
D = 60 – 69
F = 0 - 59
Grading Percentages
Tests/Projects 70%
Supplemental Grades, Class work 30%

Examinations
Most examinations will consist of two parts; cognitive and performance. Certification exam will be all performance. Dates for all examinations will be announced at least two classes in advance.
All students will be required to take the CTE Post Assessment Exam (100 questions) and a Performance Exam.
Attendance
Due to the interactive nature of the classroom environment, attending class regularly is essential to learning the material. Students will receive a failing grade for more that 10 absences. Naturally, you are responsible for material covered and announcements made during classes that you miss. When a student returns to school following an absence, the student must assume the responsibility for obtaining their missed work. Missed work must be completed no later than five school days after the student returns to school to avoid a grade reduction.
Required Classroom Materials Tardy Policy and Consequences
- Three-subject Notebook 1st - Verbal Warning
- USB Flash Drive (mandatory 4GB) 2nd – Parent call home
- 3rd - Call parent
- 4th - Referral to administrator
Classroom Rules for Conduct:
1)Be SEATED when the bell sounds.
a.When the bell rings you should be in your seat working else you are tardy.
2)Be RESPECTFUL
a.Of yourself, the instructor, your classmates and any visitors in the classroom.
3)Be PREPARED
a.When you come to class, have your materials with you and be ready to learn everyday.
4)Be INVOLVED
a.In class, at school and with all of your activities.
5)NO FOOD or DRINKS allowed in class.
a.If you are late to class in the morning finish your breakfast in the cafeteria.
b.FOOD and DRINKS will be disposed of at the door. NO EXCEPTIONS.
6)RESTROOM BREAKS
a.Students are encouraged to use the restroom within transition to next class.
b.NO students are allowed to use the bathroom the first and last 15 minutes of class. NO EXCEPTIONS.
